I'm a little confused as to why there relatively few people here on the forum, yet the PAC is growing so quickly. I saw the link here on a tweet. Is it that this just isn't advertised enough yet, or are people meeting somewhere else online for centralized discussion? I've always been a huge fan of internet forums and message boards. I know Twitter and Facebook are great, but the discussion is so much more fragmented. Is it just me? Maybe I'm just impatient

Lol, well, this forum was, literally, born yesterday evening. It could be that. And yeah, there hasn't been much advertising for it yet. I hope more members like you could get the word out about this forum?

Gladly. I'll spread it around and ask others to do the same.

Hello, my name is Richard Owl Mirror and I am willing to lend assistance and guidance where and when I can. Firstly, I'd like to say the idea of a Constitutional Convention is grand, except it takes participation from the people in demanding their State governments commit to signing on to such an amendment. That task, although difficult, is not impossible but it will take a huge effort, supported by Millions upon millions of citizens. There are other alternative methods of achieving the same goal without going through this lengthy process. This is simply an introductory note, I'll write more later.

I can speak from the experience of Occupy Portland Our facebook group grew over 10,000 very quickly before we started steering people elsewhere and out page is still growing.
Meanwhile our forum while active has proportionally been fairly deserted. Facebook is simply where the people are.
However, I think this forum and Occupy Portland's forum are still vital. Just don't stress the lack of activity, most people just don't look at forums, any forums these days.

Hi Richard, welcome to the forum. No, it's not going to be easy but now's the perfect time. The approval rate for congress is only 9%. That's very telling. I look forward to reading your alternative ideas post.

I think it's because the forum is so new and has had little advertisement. Once TYT mentions it in a video and puts a permalink on Wolf-PAC.com, I'm sure participation will accelerate.
One thing to keep in mind is that people will participate to varying degrees and only those with more passion and/or time will be actively engaged on the forums. I think that's totally OK. There is a point where too much input overwhelms a discussion. As long as the discussion here remains representative of Wolf-PAC supporters, there shouldn't be a problem. Facebook, Twitter, etc are effective at broadening the movement. I think the forums should be for deepening the movement.

achamian, thanks. I agree with everything you mentioned. Once this is linked to TYT's populated sources, the population here will increase a great deal. I've been mentioning it to friends and such. I was going to suggest a kind of promo campaign; non-spam'ish of course, but I think it might be best to just wait for the above to happen. Thanks again.

Yep, just read it in a tweet. I predict it's about to take-off! I'm here to make a quick comment pertaining to registering for the site. Why the gender question? I'm always creeped out by that question. Why does it matter for a political discussion? If I wan't people to know, wouldn't it just come up in pertinent context? I know, really an off-the-main-point, comment. I just find it a strange question and wonder why it's even there. Nonetheless, so glad to be here with all you wolf-pac girls and boys :-).

I also thought it was odd that gender was not optional. If activity on the forum (as opposed to in person or to a lesser extent on FB) is going to be anonymous, then requiring everyone to identify m/f seems unnecessary.

Yeah, giving that info isn't optional. It's required by the service that's hosting the forum. If you're uncomfortable with people knowing your gender, you can hide it by going to your profile, clicking on "Modify profile" and go down the list to where it says "Hide gender?" and click on "Yes".

First of all, hey everyone, my name is Adam! I'm so happy that this was made! Facebook and places like that are how people find out about OWS and wolf-pac but I think with this site it will be great for really finding ways to organize how we spread the news and make the wolf-pac stronger!

Hi Adam, and everyone else. I'm also happy this was made. Usually when something is being organized I'm the first to speak up and say "Start a forum!" I'm a huge fan. Other social media such as Twitter, Facebook, G+, etc. are great but when you want to focus on something, they're way too fragmented. The idea is to get their attention that way, then direct that attention to an easier to navigate/read/respond infrastructure like forums, IRC, so on and so forth.
Actually, speaking of IRC, does the W-PAC have a channel? If not, would you like me to start one up?

How are we going to ensure that the convention is not abused and used against the people?
