I agree about the public financing... It seems like regardless of how you word an amendment the sec it is official the rich power hungry immediately focus all of their resources on loopholes. Unless the wording is so simple, straight forward, and plain that there is no way they can attempt to restate what it means or find loopholes. Such as; Candidates for ____ office can spend no more than _____ for the entire election. Each will be given 3 TV ads to be shown on rotating schedule at the same time each day.

The last poster is 100% right. It has to be entirely publicly funded. I don't see how this isn't obvious? Besides which, people don't LIKE having to donate anything to candidates. They only do it to offset other donors, hence the ever-increasing amount of campaign money in politics. Please scrutinize the following alternative to this so-called "29th" amendment (although I believe it should be part of the 28th):
Each person who shall have officially declared candidacy for elected Office within the United States shall be given an equal amount of wealth as each of his or her competitors to campaign for Office. No candidate nor prospective candidate shall have been permitted before the date of the election, including before his or her official declaration of candidacy, to have spent any wealth outside of this amount to campaign for Office, nor to have compelled any other entity or person to do so.
Since I think this should be in Amendment 28 as "Section 2", my "Section 1" for Amendment 28 is:
Section 1. A government guided only by consience; no elected official within the United States shall be permitted to raise, or benefit from, any wealth in whatever form or however used, from any person or entity during or after their time in Office, as a result of any decision they were expected to make or made while in Office.
Together it'd be one "End Corruption" amendment. Why do you guys think 2 amendments would be easier to pass than 1 (as above)?
