I'm beginning to think that the current limits we have on the number of characters in a post might be a little too high. What we may get (and I'm guilty of this sin too) is long, long posts that turn off readers and new forum participation, in general.
To discourage longer posts, I support cutting the allowable characters pretty much in half. If you have any control over this, I think it could really help discussion on the forum.

Personally, I don't think it'll be a problem. This forum may be used to have relaxed conversations about whatever its members want whether it be politics or celebrity gossip, but it's primary focus is to hammer out details of the amendments and provide a quality forum for organizing. Possibly abridging people's arguments in those amendment threads (as if the 60k limit would ever be reached, lol) isn't something I want to do.
Plus, if people feel they don't have the attention span or mental capacity to read and write constitutional amendments and the arguments that go into them, they probably shouldn't be activity in those boards anyway.
But perhaps most importantly, I don't know how to lower those limits.
